Thanking Pauline Kim Harris & Looking Ahead

Eleven years ago, Carnegie Hill Concerts began presenting chamber music concerts on the Upper East Side, hosted on 87th Street in the building of series sponsor Church of the Advent Hope. For the past seven of those years, I’ve had the privilege of co-curating this series, including over 30 concerts, co-commissions, and an online festival in the summer of 2020, with Pauline Kim Harris.

As you may know, Pauline is entering her second year as Executive Director of MATA Festival. Carnegie Hill Concerts is also expanding its focus through our eclectic Saturday series called SunSets. I wanted to share what this will mean both organizationally and artistically.

Going forward, Carnegie Hill Concerts will continue to build on its efforts to showcase experimental, boundary-challenging new music through a partnership with the MATA Festival, hosting MATA Presents concerts and supporting the festival. More details will follow soon. Pauline Kim Harris will be transitioning out of her role as co-curator of Carnegie Hill Concerts. However, I am grateful that she has agreed to remain on our artistic advisory board, and I look forward to continuing to collaborate through our partnership with the MATA Festival. As our series writes new chapters, Pauline will always hold an essential place in our story and community. Our series and Advent Hope leadership and arts team join me in thanking her for her artistic vision and dedication.

As our series continues to transform and expand, we remain committed to our mission of bringing people together through music to celebrate and cultivate New York City's diverse community. I look forward to seeing you at a future concert.

With appreciation and anticipation,

Nicholas Zork
